It’s a family affair December 16, 2007
Last night we all came in for some eggnog and family seva. Andrew got our new bodhi lights put up. Greg put our prop shelf together. Kim arranged everything just right. Big D (Lisa’s mom) sat down with her Captain Morgan’s and got busy with our books…haha! Lisa was on the bench as she had a little accident in the morning falling up the stairs (yes, up). All is well. Captain and Eggnog make everything feel better!
Open and thankful December 12, 2007
We know. We know! It has been awhile since we’ve posted on the blog here. We are just such busy little yogis right now keeping the space open and beautiful and smoothing out all of the kinks. We have had 2 successful workshops already with an unbelievable turnout in each! We are blessed to have so much support on our paths back to ourselves. *big smile* We hope to see you soon around the space!
Food for thought from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali:
Chapter I. Sutra 13.
Any steady and continuous or persistent and vigilant endeavor to stand firm in the understanding of the truth of the indivisibility of cosmic intelligence is known as spiritual practice (right exertion).
6 more days… November 5, 2007
We spent 24 hours (12 hours Saturday and 12 hours Sunday) putting down our bamboo floors. Much love to Brian (who went above and beyond his call of duty as a friend!!), Andrew (who was a great project manager, foreman, teacher of the tools and all around awesome husband!!), Greg (who not only broke his back helping us all weekend, but got up early to get the bagels out to the masses too…hard worker, bagel-maker, father and wonderfully supportive husband!!), Kevin (Lisa’s brother who didn’t complain once about his sister calling him in last minute to help on football Sunday!!), Doctor Tom (although on call, showed up for whatever help we needed…nice to meet you finally!), Josie for being a cheery assistant and to our moms for taking care of our children (human and canine) all weekend.
Here are some pictures of our efforts…Click on them to make them bigger….
Man, I could sure use some yoga right now!
Count down November 1, 2007
After over a year of planning and working and reworking things, all of a sudden things are moving at the speed of light! This past year we’ve felt like kids waiting for Christmas to come…waiting and waiting as if the days were taking weeks to go by. Now, we just can’t seem to find enough hours in the day to get things done! Kim and I moved out of our Colley Avenue offices yesterday. We also passed our first final inspection yesterday. It was for the electrical so we now have light! Greg put our mailbox up so hopefully the mailman can find us. Andrew got the phone and internet wired and working. The windows go in tomorrow. The carpets go in this weekend. We are putting in the bamboo floors in the studio this weekend…Andrew is our foreman…let’s hope we can do him proud. I tried to get some pictures so you can get the gist of what is going on up there.
